For her one year blog-iversary, the owner of Brandi's Foodie Diary wanted to officially launch her brand with a new logo and blog site, and Captivating Creations was more than happy to help. Using an afro-centric theme with pops of color, we provided Brandi's Foodie Diary with a logo they could be proud of, with an emphasis on what else....FOOD!
Brandi desired a logo that would stand apart from other food bloggers, as well as, incorporate her love of geometric patterns. We chose to incorporate simplified African tribal patterns within her logo, which helped to make bold statement, while not overpowering the logo design.
Once we finalized the logo, we also created a new blog site, highlighting the secondary mark and incorporating the same bold color palette to provide cohesion across her brand. Take a look at the images below, and let us know what you think!
Below the images, check out a brief interview with the owner of Brandi's Foodie Diary
After the collaboration, we decided to ask the owner of Brandi's Foodie Diary, a couple of questions about the branding process.
1. What is unique about your business?
I give honest opinions about everything Food and Drink in the DFW and beyond from the urban millennial perspective. Not only do I give reviews, but I also provide a glimpse into my personal diary of life experiences.
2. What is your favorite food?
I'm a true foodie. Narrowing down my favorite food is a pretty impossible task. One of the best things I ever ate was Sticky Toffee pudding at a local pub in London. I was surprised to find something I really liked because most of the food in London was pretty bad lol.
3. How was your experience working with Captivating Creations?
Working with Captivating Creations was a great experience. I was able to verbalize my vision, and that vision was visually brought to life. I gave feedback on the tweaks I wanted, and by the end of the process I had a beautiful logo that I still continue to receive compliments about.
4. What’s your favorite part of your new look?
I love the colors and prints incorporated in my new logo. They give off the Afro-centric vibe that represents my style, but it's still relevant to my brand.
5. What advice would you give to someone considering a brand/rebrand?
If you are considering a new brand be open. You might have something in mind that is really near and dear to your heart, but be open to feedback. At the end of the day you aren't creating a brand for personal enjoyment alone. You're creating the brand to reach others. Feedback will allow you to keep yourself abreast of what your audience will be drawn to so you can find the compromise between your personal desires for your brand and effective changes that need to happen for success.
7. What’s next for your business?
I am expanding my brand beyond the DFW area. I have recently highlighted restaurants and events in NYC and New Orleans and will be expanding to other areas as well. Be on the lookout for more travel and life posts as well.
